Lily's First Day of Kindergarten

Though it feels like yesterday we were changing her little diapers and rocking her to sleep with bottles, Lily started kindergarten today. She was so incredibly excited! She pranced up to Westdale Heights Academic Magnet (WHAM) with gusto and lead us straight to Ms. Clare's kindergarten class. To everyone's surprise, I only teared up twice. ;)

She has decided that when she grows up she is going to be an eye doctor! 

After our mini photo session at home, we rushed to school. Apparently everyone that lives in Baton Rouge was on the roads this morning so the wiggle room we thought we had included in our schedule...was no longer! I was starting to stress...ok, I was super stressed! Thankfully, it all worked out and we were able to walk with Lily to her classroom!

Upon arrival, Lily was as cool as a cucumber! She waltzed right in, gave Mrs. Clare a big hug, and immediately started following directions!

She grabbed her name tag, found her table, and started coloring!

So, at this point, I've taken photos both with my phone and our camera. But that wasn't enough...it was time for a few "groupies"...

And that's basically when she started ignoring us and politely hinting that we should leave...

So off we went...and she was fine! We weren't able to pull a ton of information from her after school...though we desperately tried, but she's excited for tomorrow! So I guess it was a good day! ;)
